TMF is making history!

MTV, Optus and technology partner Gravity are using TMF to launch the first participation TV program of its kind to appear on Australian television. Guys and gals, psych yourself out for VIDCAST !

Forget the old boring television of last century – this time round, you’re the celebs, and television’s never been looking better.

Using Vidcast, you can create your own original videos on your mobile phone, using a video call or MMS video. After you’ve created the video, you can upload them directly to the show, where they’ll screen on TMF between 3pm to 4pm weekdays. It’s instant airtime!

Preparing your Vidcast for upload via videocall or MMS:

** IMPORTANT! THE CLIP NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 10 SECONDS LONG! **

For videocall, plug in the number 0402 22 2278 (0402 22CAST). For MMS, use 0404 22 2278 (0404 22CAST). Either way you play it, you’ll be charged the standard rates as set out by your mobile phone service provider.

Creating your Vidcast:

To shoot away, start by making sure that your Vidcast subject is standing in a well-lit position. Hold the camera steady, and press 1 on your handset. That’ll start recording the stuff you want to go on air.

When you want to stop recording, press 2 on your handset.

If you love it, press 1 and it’ll be shot off to TMF. But if you think it seriously sucks, just press 2, and it’ll never be seen again. We mean it. You’ve got all the control.

So unless you want your mates to see you stuff it up, you can always decide to bin it… even if it does make the most awesome viewing. Just don’t press 2, or it’ll be too late, and your Vidcast will be as irretrievable as Paris Hilton’s sex video.

TMF Vidcast – it’s crazy and it’s landed. So get creative, get profusive, and grab your 15 seconds (or whatever the hell you like!) of celluloid!

TMF is a truly interactive playground and music channel in one featuring 24 hours of music video programming and viewer-generated content including images, videos, text-based applications and graphics. Furthering the connectivity between the platforms, TMF will be the first music channel in Australia to seamlessly connect all platforms as well as simulcast to mobile 24-hours a day when launched in September 2007.

Other features of the channel will include downloads to mobile from the music video on screen as well as the submission of user generated mobile content direct to air!
